Why have Community Signs?

The importance of giving local communities an identifiable image cannot be over-emphasised.

This has many social benefits that need not necessarily translate into high cost. It requires careful design whilst using durable materials to enable the signs to be matched to your budget.

There are a number of finish options from which you can select the most appropriate for your application and budget.

Embossed Resin

A raised image which is cast in solid colour i.e. the colour goes all the way through and is not just on the surface as with cast metal or painted timber. The finishing involves an additional protective clear coating to resist weathering. Such signs should last 15 years and more.

Routing of timber

Timber routing should give 5 to 10 years service; this is normally reserved for lettering only. Full colour pictures can be produced either by modern computer printing or for greater durability, traditional hand painting.

Vitreous Enamel

This is the method by which old style adverts were produced and these can still be seen fixed to walls and are still legible twenty or thirty years and more after installation.

Self-adhesive vinyl lettering

We can also supply Self-adhesive vinyl lettering for short-term projects where this low cost option is appropriate. This should last the same length of time as timber routing.
